Ed Sheeran has so much in store for us. According to an interview with Rolling Stone, Ed divulged that he has been hard at work on not one, but three new albums!
Ed has demoed 70 songs in preparation for the next three years in which he plans on releasing one album a year. He's not sure on the production style or exact songs he wants on each album, but he has recruited Jeff Bhasker and Rick Rubin to produce his albums:
"Rick had an idea of me recording it completely acoustic and then adding [instrumentation later]," he explains in his Rolling Stone interview. "There are just so many tunes and so many directions to go with the album that I don't really know."
Although Ed is 58 shows deep into his year-long gig supporting Taylor Swift on her Red Tour, he has taken time on the road to collaborate with his regular tour-mate Foy Vance on a few songs. Vance has helped pen six of the potential songs for his upcoming albums. Besides his collaboration with Vance, Ed has confirmed that as of now he doesn't have any duets with other famous friends in store for us.
An exact release date has not been set for the new album(s), but we can definitely look forward to tons of amazing music from Ed in the next three years--what's not to love about that?
